This picture is a hamburger for white people only. It was taken outside but you can see the inside of the store through the window. Its probably in an urban place because they have food places in town. You can see a white man in the window and a waitress serving him. He looks like he is a 35-40 year old man. Something that catchs my eye is that a hamburger is only five cents. The condition of the Farmers Cafe seems to be in good shape. Above the door it clearly says WHITE. This is a black and white photo and doesn't say who the photographer is. I would want to ask the man in the store, what he would do if a colored person walked into the hamburger place he is sitting in.

In this picture, the sign says "Rex Billiard Hall for COLORED". That means that African Americans can go play pool there. The whites and blacks were segragated. It is an outdoors picture in a urban place during the day. You can clearly see five black men standing or sitting in front of the billiard hall but there are other men there too. All the men are in some type of hat. I notice how old the car looks and the Wonder Bread sign in the back. The condtion of the pool hall seems to be fine. It doesn't look run down. It is black and white. Something I would ask the men in the photograph is, if there is anything else to do for fun for blacks instead of playing pool.

Girl at "colored" drinking fountain, county courthouse, North Carolina
This picture is of a African American girl at a colored waterfountain. This photograph was taken outside in the suburbs during the day. There is one little girl in the picture. She's wearing pants and a white tshirt. Something that catchs my eye is the COLORED eyes. Theres a building in the background. The pictures in black and white. A question I would want to ask the girl in the picture is, if the water is as good and as cold as the white peoples.
